Best Home Surveillance Value

If you have old iDevices laying around, Manything should be your home video system of choice. Notifications, Motion triggered clips, and HD video all at a fraction of the cost. Works with IFTT and records on a loop. With 2 cameras and my Scout system I have top tier security with video for under $17/month.

Yes, the app had server issues. But...

I received an email from manything saying they had a server issue over the past 24hrs (this is written on 3/1/2016.). In the one plus year Ive been using the free version of Manything, this has been the ONLY issue! Its easy and reliable. I can keep tabs on my furbabies when Im at work thanks to this app. I highly recommend it.

One of the best apps on my phone.

I use manything everyday, it is always there keeping an eye on things when I cant be there. Easily a top of the most used app that I have purchased.

For all of you who gave this a bad rating, shame on you. So the server went down, whoop tee doo . This is a good app and things do happen. Their guys worked all night to try to get it going and were successful so go back in and re-rate this app five star and grow up.

Needs work

Love this app and company. Manything has amazing customer service.

Great app

Awesome customer service and app works as advertised

Thief caught

I have used Manything app for a couple years now. Very easy to set up initially and only takes about 10 seconds to have it up and running each day. Recently a coworker had just downloaded the app after seeing how well mine works. The first time she used Manything she received an alert on her phone while having lunch and saw a thief in her living room. She called 911 and they apprehended them within minutes. Thanks to Manything they were caught red handed!

Wow..

So this is perfect for someone that might want to move a camera around to different locations on a daily basis, or place it outside of your wifi networks area ( provided you have a device on a cellular plan ). Fantastic recording quality and you can control your recording device remotely via another iOS device or your mac. Watch the live stream on another device or view later via the cloud recording of the footage. Brilliant application and the future of casual home surveillance!!

Needs featutures

Under stills, you need a simple remote button that you can take one still at high resolution. Under the viewer, you need a pause button that halts playback and keeps the image displayed, not going blank like it does now. You need to be be able on the viewer to zoom and pan a single still or pause playback. Except for zoom and high res still, the functionality is buried in their, it is just that the operator interface is so clumsy and poorly thought out, you cant access this stuff, nor understand how to do so. You need an industrial ergonomist GUI designer. This poor operator interface on top of great underlying technical work is very much in the stereotype of German product design. A brilliant engineering culture in search of human factors design.

Burglary stopped by Manythingapp

I recently started using the Manything app at the recommendation of a coworker. On the very second day that I turned it on I was alerted and saw thieves in my home stealing my belongings. This realtime app is fantastic! I called the police and they were able to stop the thieves before they could get out of my home. I am so thankful! I have never had a security/video system before but this one works just as well as any other system if not better without the high out of pocket expense. I cant say enough great things about this. It has a free trial. Download it, use it, you WILL love it too!

Spot on

Ive been using this app since it first came out and love it. It is a comfort to be able to look in on the house once in a while when Im away. The only improvement I can think of is if there was a native notification loud enough to wake you up during the night.

Works great.

Generous with features in the free version.

Monitoring an aging parent

Receive multiple daily notifications of movement. If no alerts of motion then I know there is an issue for aging parent should be up and about. The piece of mind from being able to see (talking is available but I am not using that feature yet) into the living space is perfect for both this parent and this child. Do not think this was the original design, but it works very well as described above.

Pretty effective

Works fairly well. I had to use an app to keep my phone awake so it didnt cut off my video feed and camera motion sensing capability. It would be handy to be able to adjust how many seconds before and after the camera records and event. A distance adjustment for a recordable event might not hurt for outdoor applications.

Focus on connectivity and recovery

Awaiting the update that makes this all worth it. And still waiting.

Very Nice Motion Cam App

I tried two other similar apps, but Manything works best and was easier to master after a few tries. Ive been testing it in various locations and the images are great, the motion sensor works great, alerts are spot on and it even displays what the battery level is for the "camera" phone on the "viewer" phone. I use it on a wifi since the phone no longer has a SIM card. Great re-use of an old iPhone.

App broken!!!

As of today, 3/27/16, the app crashes when I try to open it. It has been working great until today.

Helped us recover our dog!

Our dog Lizzy recently ran away and spent five days roaming our rural neighborhood, evading capture by day. Using the Manything app we were easily able to monitor her nightly visits to our garage. After receiving a motion alert from the app and observing the live feed until she settled down and went to sleep, we finally were able to sneak up and secure her in the garage. Lizzys rambling days are over and she is now safely reunited with her family! Thank you for this wonderful life saving app!
